Explore the local Gondoca Lagoon

You will depart shortly after breakfast and meet one of the lodge boat captains for your boat ride to the lagoon entrance.  Here you will be met by a Gondola Lagoon guide in his boat and electric motor.  No gas motors are allowed to function in the lagoon to ensure a peaceful and enjoyable tour.

You will transfer to the lagoon boat and spend 2-4 hours getting educated on the many different aspects of the Gondoca Lagoon.  The lagoon is surrounded by dense jungle and offers good nature viewing including caimans & crocodiles, many birds, 3 species of monkeys, manatees and more.  The lagoon serves as a nursery for the local Tarpon that many anglers come to this area specifically to chase!

The lagoon is a place with great biodiversity, you will be able to appreciate the great variety of ecosystems, a dense and exuberant vegetation including the only lagoon in Costa Rica that features 5 different types of mangroves!

This tour is a great tour for birders for it allows you to get up close and personal with many different species from the quite and stealth of the lagoon boat.  Cruise along in silence and have your camera at the ready!

This tour is a great tour for the entire group.  We can cater this tour to accommodate the group that is attending the tour.  Wish to go from boat to boat and spend a leisurely day on the water.  Would you like to add in some stops on local remote beaches and do some hiking and exploring.  We will communicate with the group at the lodge and prepare the perfect physical activity desires of the group attending the tour.

Tour time will vary depending on the itinerary we create for each group.  A minimum time would be 4 hours with ride to the lagoon, lagoon tour and return ride to the lodge.  But we can expand on this tour to allow for the group to visit local beaches and enjoy lunch provided by the lodge.  Snorkeling can also be included. This nature & adventurous tour is a great way to break up the day and take in exactly what Costa Rica is all about.
