Punta Mona Farm & Beach Day
Overview
The Punta Mona Farm & Beach Day starts and stops form the steps of the Manzanillo Eco Lodge. We will be met after breakfast by our local bi-lingual tour guide who will guide and educate everyone as we hike our way down to the Farm. We will explore the local jungle on our way to the Farm on a 4 mile hike.
Upon arriving at Punta Mona we will be met by farm employees. They will guide us around the property showing us the many different facets of this expansive sustainable farm that functions out here in its remote location. The Punta Mona farm is 100% sustainable providing its own electricity, water and many different types of food. At the farm they have fish farms for fresh fish, gardens for all their fruits and vegetable and live stock on site. Learn how you too can live in such harmony with nature.
We'll take a walk around the farm, giving you an overview of food forest design, native tropical plants and medicinal herbs, natural building, humanure composting, and community living. Enjoy a farm fresh lunch at our beachfront dining tables and take in the sparkling Caribbean Sea.
After our stay at the farm, lodge boats will pick us up on the beach front and take us on a tour of the coast as we make our way back to the lodge. Stopping and exploring remote beaches are possible during this portion of the tour.
